Unlocking the Transformative Potential of Epigenomic Research

The center's director, Dr. Bing Ren, has been at the forefront of epigenomic research for over a decade. A pioneer in the field, he has a long and influential record of scientific innovation and leadership as a driving force for multiple genomic consortia, including ENCODE, the NIH Roadmap Epigenomics Mapping Consortium, the International Human Epigenome Consortium, and the 4D Nucleome Consortium. Today, his laboratory is a leader in the study of how the epigenome regulates cellular function.

The Center for Epigenomics, located in the department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at UC San Diego, is a state-of-the-art collaborative research center built on the foundation of theoretical and technical innovation in the field of epigenomics and specializes in the latest genomic and epigenomic technologies to generate the highest quality data at scale. The Center's mission is to make transformative discoveries - by partnering with leaders within the scientific community to apply these technologies to the toughest and most critical questions facing science and human health.

Excellence in epigenomic technology

We take cutting-edge epigenomic innovation from academia to a quality and scale normally reserved for industry.

Impact through groundbreaking research

We are developing a quantitative and molecular framework to study the function and regulation of the genome in the context of human disease.
